USACE EM 385-1-1 (2024 Edition)
is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Safety and Occupational Health Requirements Manual. It prescribes mandatory safety and health standards for all USACE activities, operations, and contracts (including those administered for others), applying to military, civilian, and contractor personnel. Often more stringent than OSHA, it requires site-specific Accident Prevention Plans (APP), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHA), training, PPE, risk management, and covers topics like program management, fall protection, electrical safety, excavation, cranes, hazardous materials, and emerging areas (e.g., drones).Purpose: Prevent accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses on USACE-related projects.
